What now? I'm sick :(

Hi everyone.

I'm sick so I haven't written on the blog lately. My head is just not up for writing, and I try not to be a copy and paste kind of girl. But I'm getting slowly better, so I hope to be back blogging some time this week.

But if you miss me and my geekyness much you can read my Tumblr blog until I'm back. I think I even have some stuff queued there still. My Tumblr! Different kind of blog, but filled with geeky goodness.

I might post a little bit more sporadic this coming week. I'm working a lot and I and testing out if I like the newest Dr. Who series, and the game Oblivion. So far both are put down as status OK.

 

The Jane Austen heroine Test

Normally I never do these kind of tests. But this one I could not resist. I am after all a dedicated Jane Austen fan! And I promise you I will write about her and her books a lot. Actually, with her I will probably have separate posts for each book, and one for the author.

I actually thought this was a very well made test. And I found myself thinking more about how I would react if I lived in Jane Austens world, and not just who I wanted to become (Elizabeth Bennet will always be my favourite).

Not quite sure what I think about the result. As I said, Elizabeth Bennet is my idol and my all time favourite. But I might actually be more of an Elinor Dashwood. Although I don't think anyone, least of all my sisters, would think me cold or boring. But I guess I have the same values as she does.

I would never go for Edward Ferrars though. Not my type of man at all. But Mr. Knightley from "Emma" on the other hand...

This test made me want to reread all of the books again. And I think I will. My sister gave me the collected novels for X-mas one year. So with that in mind there will probably come some more Austen posts on this blog. It's maybe not in sync with the overlaying theme of this blog, but I don't care. She rocks!

What now? Updates on me!

I have decided that I won't write too much about me on this blog. Part because I'm not that exciting, and part because I tried it before. I found that people are not interested in reading about me, and I very soon got bored with writing about my not so interesting life.

But that being said, I thought I would make a series of update-posts about me. What I am reading, watching and doing at the time. As you probably understand these posts won't be very frequent. As I said, I don't have an especially interesting life. Probably why I'm so geeky...

So let's start!

What am I reading these days?

• The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien. Started rereading this one because it was surly 10 years since the last time. And since the movie is coming out eventually I wanted to remember a bit better. I only have a few chapters left now.
• Northern Mysteries & Magick – Freya Aswynn. Reading this one for a book club project with a friend. It's mainly about runes. And I have to say I'm not impressed with the author so far...
• Naked Empire – Terry Goodkind. Haven't actually started reading this one yet. I just finished Faith of the Fallen, so I did take it out of the shelf, and it is currently receding in my reading corner (yes I have one). I decided to reread the entire Sword of Truth series, and I'm about half way.

Which audio books am I listening to?

• American Gods – Neil Gaiman. Just finished this one actually. It was very different from the other books I have read by him. But I loved it of course. I love everything he writes.
• Pyramids – Terry Pratchett. I have a project going on: I'm going to listen to the whole Discworld series. I have book 1 - 36. This is number 7. I find there's some wonderful weird logic and world wiews in his writings that I totally get.

Which series do I watch?

• Eureka. I actually hadn't heard about this series before this year. I guess it's not running in Norway. But a friend told me about it, and then I found out that Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton are staring in season 4 I was sold. I'm currently on season 2, slowly working my way to their episodes.
• The Big Bang Theory. I didn't want to see this show at first, because I got so uncomfortable watching the character Howard Wolowitz. But after getting trough the first two seasons it got better. And this is the only show I have watched where I get 90% of the references!
• The Guild. This web-series by Felicia Day just ended their season 5 actually. But I'm sometimes a bit slow when it comes to series, so I saw the 3 last episodes a few days ago. And I absolutely loved all the cameos!
• Dragon Age: Redemption. Felicia Days new webseries. So far there's only two episodes, but what I saw there convinced me that I want to see the rest of it.
• NCIS, Criminal Minds and The Mentalist. I can say pretty much the same about these three series. I love them passionately. I have followed them since they started. I will keep following them till they end (gods forbid).

What games do I play?

• FarmVille and FontierVille. I know it's sad. My internet is not exactly up to date these days, and that won't change for at least a few months. So instead of WoW I had to find something. Don't worry, I have a fake FB account for playing these games. And I will stop as soon as I can play WoW again.
• Spider Solitaire. Sometimes I like to play this one while listening to my audio books.

What do I do these days?

• Blogging/Twitter/FB. After I stopped smoking a few weeks ago I started using more time online. Probably to keep my mind from the smoking. I will have to calm down with the internet thing soon though. I never go to bed on time anymore.
• Variety Show/Acting. I'm currently in an acting group of sorts, and we are writing a variety show. We haven't started practicing on stage yet, but we will soon. It will be two preformanses, one 27th and one 29th of December.
• Podcast/Knitting/Coffee. Not always together though. Not long ago I decided to test the phenomenon that is podcasts, and I loved it. I am also currently learning to knit. The two go very well together.
• Walking/Spinning. These are the two main exercise things I do. I used to attend zumba classes, but they changed the day. And the new day did not suit me at all. That being said, except for zumba, I hate all forms of exercise. So I do it because I have to, not because I like it.

I think this will have to do for this time. One wants to remain a tad mysterious at least, hehe.
