When you live like I do

Happy Holidays!!

It's Xmas morning! In Norway we celebrate on Xmas Eve, and Xmas morning is just for relaxing and eating good food. Which I have done, and now I am sitting in front of the fireplace in the kitchen drinking a latte and blogging. The radio is on and my parents and I are the only ones up yet. My 3 siblings are dead to the world still.

Going Away

Oh my, this blog pause thing is becoming a habit. But I will still take a break. I'm going to Oslo to visit some friends, and finnish off my xmas shopping. I will try to make a few blog posts when I get back, but the xmas time will be a busy one for me. Lots of working and being social and parties and family time and so on. I promise that after New Years I will be more regular in my blogging.

But as earlier you can read my geeky Tumblr blog if you want to. I have qued a lot of stuff there.

I won't say much about it, since everyone get it by now. But I do want to add that I'm a bit annoyed that the iPhone app has been available for a long time now, but they can't seem to ever release the Android one!!

Testing Podcasts: Bagged & Boarded

As I have mentioned before I am currently checking out geeky podcasts. I have listened to several not so good, and not my type of geeks podcasts. Some are ok ones, and some very good ones though. But yesterday I found this gem. I downloaded it a while ago, since he is represented Kevin Smiths SModcast site. But I didn't listen to it before now.

Matt Choen is a movie and TV-series geek, just like me! The thing that really got me with this one was simply that he was discussing things I know about, and love. As I understand we don't share the same views about every show, but it doesn't matter. He talks about them on his podcasts and it's good enough for me! This podcast might actually slide right into first place, over Nerdist. I haven't heard enough of it yet to say for sure. But what I did hear would suggest so. Can't wait to listen to the episode where he has Chris Hardwick as a guest though, just downloaded that one. It should be fun, and loaded with Doctor Who and Walking Dead talk.

Matt Cohen (born October 11, 1984) is the host/creator of Bagged & Boarded a geek-chat podcast hosted on the SmodCast Network and the producer/engineer of Mohr Stories hosted by Jay Mohr; also on the Smodcast network. Matt was the co-owner and theater manager of Kevin Smith's short-lived SmodCastle.  Matt is also the founder and president of Camel Toad Productions, his own production company.

Matt Choen has also just started hosting another podcast in the SModcast universe, but I haven't had the time to check it out yet. I did download an episode that mentioned a Fringe reference in the description though.

Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black and white stripes. Their stripes come in different patterns unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and asses, zebras have never been truly domesticated.

Fact: Black stripes on white or white stripes on black? Some zebras are born with unfully formed stripes that seem to indicate a black background, pigment, or skin color with white stripes. But, how can zebra stripes be useful for camouflage? Since a lion, one of the zebra's main predators, is color blind, the pattern of the zebra's stripes is more crucial than color for the zebra to blend with its background. A mass of blended stripes from a large, moving group of zebras makes it difficult for the lion to plan an attack on any specific zebra. Like fingerprints, zebras have uniquely identifiable stripes -- useful to one another and scientists. They seem to get some kind of pleasure from looking at stripes. Stripes seem to be so important to the zebra that black and white stripes painted on a wall will attract zebras to group near the wall.

YouTube: Doctor Who Cast and Crew

As you probably already know by now I'm watching the Doctor Who series at the moment. I'm only on season two yet, and still trying to get used to the new Doctor.

So I was sitting on my computer playing games and listening to a podcast I'm trying out called Geek Chicks, and they were talking about a funny YouTube video made by the cast and crew of Doctor Who. I saw it, and thought it was funny, so here you are.

Ps. I will try to do the blog daily again starting today. I'm starting to get better, so now I have no excuses.

 

What now? I'm sick :(

Hi everyone.

I'm sick so I haven't written on the blog lately. My head is just not up for writing, and I try not to be a copy and paste kind of girl. But I'm getting slowly better, so I hope to be back blogging some time this week.
